New Compton Beach Painting
Endlessly inspiring, always shifting and changing, Compton Beach is a new place every visit. Tide in, tide out, cliffs crumbling, sand wet, sand dry, no sand, black rocks, purple marl, grey stones, low sun, high sun, no sun. Walk East to Brook. Walk West toward the chalk cliff. Into the sun. Sun over my shoulder. Sunset. Sunrise. Fiery or serene, endlessly, endlessly engaging.
Here is my latest version of a particular aspect. Version three. Light moving along the distant chalk cliffs of Highdown, the tide coming in, waves breaking onto the beach. Traditional oil on stretched canvas approx 130cmW x 50cmD
Hanging at Yarmouth Gallery as from today.
